I have made Delia's mincemeat, following the recipe exactly, but found it rather dry when cooked in mince pies. What can I use to moisten it - I think it needs quite a lot more liquid? Tha k you. Verity

This recipe isn’t dry so something has gone wrong. The apple, suet, sugar, orange and lemon juice all add moisture to the mincemeat. Could it be that you left something out or didn’t measure out any of these ingredients accurately? If you did there may be way of incorporating it? Did you roll the pastry thinly? This gives a larger space for the mincemeat in the pies.
