Recipes for younger guests
Asked on 14 Jan 2017 by Mrs. Croc
Hi Lindsay/Delia,
Having been a "Delia woman" for some years now, we have had some fantastic adult Christmas parties and suppers using her recipes and hope to continue doing so.
However, would it be possible to do some recipes for a children's Christmas party or supper that involves more than burgers, chicken drumsticks, sandwiches and hotdogs?
I have looked in a variety of recipie books and that, or dressed up variations of them are all I can find for the midddle childhood range of nine to fourteen. Hope you can both help!
Hello,
As you have discovered we do not have any specific recipes written for children.
We use Delia’s recipes as they are or adapt them when need be - substituting the alcohol or reducing the amount of chilies etc.
Perhaps we will be able to gather a collection together here on the site but in the meantime my daughter is 9 and these are some recipes that she likes…
Tortilla (Spanish Omelette)
Quiche Lorraine
Potato, Cheese and Spring Onion Souffle
Bruschetta with Tomato and Basil
Tomato Tart with Swiss Cheese
Caramelised Onion Tartlets
Tomato and Goats' Cheese Tart
Ragu Bolognese
Turkey Roulades
Sausages with Puy Lentils
Barbecued Chicken
Chicken Feuilletes
Spanish Chicken with Butter Beans
Stir-fried Chicken with Broccoli and Mushrooms
Chicken Basque
Oven-baked Chicken in Barbecue Sauce
Turkey Saltimbocca
Beef and Tomato Stew
Sicilian Pasta with Tomatoes
Pasta with Tomato and Mozzarella
Spiced Lamb Koftas in Tomato Sauce
Baked Macaroni Pie
Risotto Verde
Oven-baked Risotto Carbonara
Roasted and Sun-dried Tomato Risotto
Shepherd's Pie with Cheese-crusted Leeks
Or if your young guests have a favourite ingredient you can search recipes by ingredient.
Kind regards
Lindsey
Many thanks, that's a good selection.
