I'm in Lincolnshire and we have been covered in snow all week. Unfortunately my daughter started a new job which is a good 25 miles away and goes across country so has had some difficulty but has managed to get to work on time!
My chickens hate it and tend to spend most of the day in my greenhouse!
I'm always well stocked up and like James wouldn't run out of much if stuck in for over a week and could manage a month if I had to although milk would be something I would run out of but could do without.
I've been stocking up the bird feeder and trying to give the birds fresh water every day as all their supplies are frozen.

Hope you got your delivery Darkginger. Waitrose valiantly battled their way up our ungritted lane (half a mile) this morning, despite the drifting. I was so impressed. They did the same last winter. So will be fine for the next week and probably beyond. We make our own bread and the freezers are full (they always are). So we won't starve. I'm also trying to eat sensibly and so it was important to get the fresh fruit and veg today.

We've had snow all week and currently have about 4 inches and more to follow.

Yep, Tescos turned up on time, and brought the shopping up from the road on a trolley - which is quite a way. I was impressed :) I emailed their HQ to say thanks - hope it gets passed on to the guy who delivered it!

If you have any apples, cut them up for the birds. They love them.

Well we have about 4ins here. Worked this am but found it horrid driving on icy roads . No more work till Tuesday.
Hunkering down with Vino , food and TV. Will walk into town tomorrow(1/2hr) if we need to .
Like James could survive several weeks with what I have in cupboards /freezer etc .

So impressed with Waitrose that I did their online feedback survey thingy. As you say Darkginger, I do hope that my glowing praises are passed on to Chris, the driver. I also praised whoever does the recruiting because without fail, their drivers are all excellent and it takes a certain skill to recognise, even with the right training, someone who will be polite/courteous under any circumstances.
