Le Saucier

I seem to remember seeing this in the Lakeland catalogue a while back but I don't know if they still do it.

Go to Tefal's website as they have an on-line purchasing site.

As I've already said, it is discontinued in the UK. Neither Lakeland do it (they discontinued it YEARS ago) nor the Tefal web site for the UK do it, its DISCONTINUED!!!!!

Tefal still do it in France though.

2nd best gadget in the kitchen

First, it is available currently in France with the marque SEB. There have been at least 3 models. We have the original, but I have recently snapped up three second-hand (2xMk1 + 1xMk2) and will be putting them on eBay in about 2 weeks time, after giving first refusal to sis-in-law, who has scratched the teflon coating on hers.

We like kitchen gadgets, are very fussy about getting good value, and the Saucier comes a close second only to our Bosch hand processor (you know, one of those magic wands for liquidising the soup etc.) Both cost less than £100 and are used far more than the Magimix or Kenwood Chef, both wonderful machines for what they do!

Le saucier

They are frequently available on ebay.co.uk. too, usually ending up going for about £40 - even the older models. Having poo pooed the idea (I mean how hards is it to make a white sauce?) I bought one for my mother who finds it painful to stand and stir these days, and of course I had to try it out myself...
It didn't come with any instructions but I managed to find some recipes on French web sites. I am almost certainly going to be buying myself one when the time comes to handing this one over to my mother.

I have one and wouldn't be without it. It lets you get on with other things while it stirs and makes sauces! It is one of the best kitchen gadgets I have bought!

on eBay now

I may be breaking the forum rules, but I have just put one of these wonders onto eBay UK.
