5:2 Diet

Well, I decided to give it a go in the end, just to see what it was like, more than anything. I'm still low carbing, and always will be, but today I tried to stick to under 500 cals. Had two mugs of home made veg soup during the day, and then 'dinner' was 2 hardboiled eggs, 2 thin slices of ham, and 2 cherry tomatoes. I'm not hungry, which surprises me a bit. My 'fast' days will be Mondays and Thursdays, and I'll see if it helps me shift this last bit of weight - can't weigh myself until I'm back in the UK on June 21st, so won't know until then!

Typically, our local pub announced on Facebook today that they were doing a one-day-only special of any sized lobster for 24 euro - and it's my favourite food! Looked up the calorie count, and although I could have fitted it in to the 500 cals, I *have* to drench lobster in butter, so that was a no-no. Oh well, maybe they'll do it again!

5:2 Diet

I have just started this - one week so far. It seems to be easy to manage and I am hoping the results will be good too. Never been able to stick to a diet successfully in the past, but this is different. I have purchased a couple of recipe books and Michael Moseley's book too - so no excuses!! If anyone is interested, I will post the outcome some time in the future (only if it is good, of course) as you have to give it time. Good luck to those on this regime.

I've just got through the 2nd day this week, I will try to report back with any weight lose, if any, later in the week. I do miss the cake.
Well done to those on the diet.

Was feeling a bit disapointed after the first week, I seemed to have lost almost nothing but after another fast day the scales showed a loss of 2lb so feeling happy today.
I bought the book and have finished reading it, it was very encouraging and I will keep rereading it.
I might weigh myself just once a month rather than weekly because I may lose hope if I don't see any difference week to week.
For me it hasn't been easy on the fast days but as I've only done 3 I hope it will get better as time goes on.

5:2 Diet

3rd fast day for me too today - had a couple of home made burgers with lettuce leaves and a tomato earlier, and that'll be it for the day, apart from loads of water. I think it's easier for me as a low carber, because of the appetite suppression that a low carb diet brings. Anyway, no idea if I've lost anything until I get back to Dad's on the 21st June, but I feel a bit smaller, if you know what I mean :D

Still trying - but progress is very slow - too many social events at this time of the year in France. However, I have lost quite a bit and feel better in myself, which is good. I will continue with the diet as I am determined to lose a significant amount as we have a family wedding in October. ( I have ordered an expensive dress for the event - so will persevered)

As long as you are losing some weight that's good, better than putting it on I say.So well done. You still have a while till your family wedding in October so plenty of time to lose more.

I'm doing ok, aiming to lose 1lb a week which is not a lot in the short term but over 6/12 months is a lot.
I don't count the cals but I know I'm eating far less than on a normal day. And tomorrow is another day so the cake can wait.
It's working so I must be doing something right. Some days are easier than others but if you find yourself thinking about food you need to take your mind off it by doing something. Going out instead of hanging around the house helps and if it shortens the day even better or just go to bed early.
When I began this diet the next days breakfast couldn't come soon enough but it's strange as time goes on that's not happening anymore.
Today is a fasting day so must go and sort out lunch....that tomato looks rather nice :0)

Violet Eyes, a lb a week is a good steady loss. My friends mum is doing it. She lost a stone in 12 weeks. She usually did monday and thursday as her fast days but switched about if she had an event on. I finally persuaded her to come swimming with me in the early mornings so now she does 2 swims a week also. I think if you can fit in a bit of fast walking or any exercise that increases your heart rate a little that can only be beneficial.Good Luck : )
