Snowed in

We're snowed in because my 4 x 4 (diesel) isn't happy... think it's the heater 'plugs' that heat the diesel or something like that. So not happy. Mike's BMW is absolutely useless in the snow and so if we have an emergency, I think the ambulance helicopter will have to land in the pasture field next door as our ungritted lane (half a mile long) has drifts across it and may be impassable. Thinking of banning Mike from the workshop. Heard a loud exclamation (unrepeatable) come from there this morning and rushed to see what he'd done (afraid of what I might find... digit missing or something) and he was cross because he'd beggared up a table leg he was turning. Perhaps he'd like to do a jigsaw?!

A bit snowed up

Are you sure he's safe with a jigsaw, I've heard they can cut a finger quite badly?

Jigsaw

:o) Oh, I don't mean one of those jigsaws... they ARE sharp. I mean one with a scene of a harbour on it. Something gentle. He has an horrendous cold at the moment and he should be indoors and resting. But that's expecting a lot from him.

Snowed in - AGAIN!

Yesterday it rained and most of the snow had melted away and we thought we would be able to get out to the supermarket - but it dumped another load on us overnight and it is still snowing. When we first moved here to SW France 10 years ago we never had snow, but now we seem to get a lot every winter. Have to go to the freezer (down the drive in the garage) for more supplies which are dwindling fast. Milk is the main problem I have been making bread, but the bread flour will only last so long. Luckily the electricity is still with us, we usually get power cuts in the snow and the TV satellite can't see us!! But so far so good. I expect you can tell I am bored by the length of this post - perhaps I should clean out cupboards or something virtuous like others - but then maybe not!!
