Question for Delia

Of all the recipes you have ever come up with, which would be your "Desert Island Dish" and which would want to consign to Room 101?!

David.

chorizo

In all the recipes that include Chorizo, it always asks for cooking Choizo, which i can never find.
If i ask any of the assistants for help, none seem to know what i am talking about.
Is there a difference between just the Choitzo i see on the shelves and cooking Chorizo

cooking with alcohol

What can I use as a substitute for alcohol in recipes, will this change the flavour of the dish much?

Interesting vegetables for awkward teenagers

Hi Delia,
I have a very picky 14 year old daughter who struggles with any veg except carrots.
Can you suggest some interesting ways with veg that would help encourage her to try something new.
PS She's an avid cook herself, especially chocolate cakes!

Many thanks
Jenny James

Troublesome food

I'm not expecting to win a book with this question. However, there is something that I would like to ask. We all have different tastes, but as a sucessful and diverse chef, is there a particular food or ingredient that you just don't like?

web chat question

not technically from me again, but my husband.

He wants to know.

If you where to cook a meal for the Norwich Football Team, what would you cook?

Are they under a strict "diet" when the season is in full swing, or as its you would anything go?

Crispy Duck

Hi Delia, we love crispy skinned roast Duck, but it makes such a mess of the oven, have tried putting it on a rack over a pan of hot water, but still the oven looks like a grease bomb has exploded!

Cupcakes

Cup cakes - freshly made - go hard fairly quickly - any suggestions for keeping them fresh?"
Thank you

Sauces.

Any chance of you making a programme on sauces and how to experiment with them? For instance, I often add finely-chopped spring onions to mint sauce. One can do magic things with a basic white sauce.

Salt & Pepper grinders

Hello Delia

I've been experiencing terrible problems with salt & ,perhaps more importantly, pepper grinders for the past couple of years. Each lot we buy just doesn't do the job. Is there a particular type you would recommend.
