Weather talk

We live close to Silverstone and you will no doubt have heard how it effected the Grand Prix. But the odd thing is we must have been on the edge of the weather belt because he didn't get much (fine drizzle) here on the hill.

Tomorrow we are in Aberdeenshire and it's going to be wet and only 11 C !! Typical weather for a funeral. Kirk is right on top of a hill and overlooks the sea... so could be we will need a wee dram to warm us up.

It's cold and wet here today in Melbourne Australia. A wintery 13 and will be for the rest of the week. After a beautiful sunny weekend where we had a bbq,its back to inside cooking for this week.

Weeks later..still raining...saying that we had a reprieve Thursday and Friday, infact, a colleague managed to get a slight tan on Thursday when they went out for a picnic for the day!!! Luckily O/H mowed lawn when he got home yesterday as today will be a no no. The garden has gone haywire too!!

Still wet.

Had a reasonably dry day yesterday , raining since 5pm yesterday , still raining since then , water running down the road.
Had a load of garlic growing , had to pull it up yeastrday , it was rotten.
My neighbour has lost all his veg in his allotment , yes everything has gone all waterlogged.
.he tried to pick potatoes last week , but on digging he found they were resting in a pool of water.
We are told that veg will be very expensive this year.

Tomorrow we are told it will be a fine day in our area Foodie , then Monday it is back to rain again for the next 4 days.

Weather talk!

We are very lucky that we have not had any flooding or major problems. We have a couple of weeks of outside concerts and plays at the moment. A performance of a Shakespeare play was cancelled on Thurs after the interval because it was too wet to continue. Tonight we are meant to be attending an open air concert at Leeds Castle and it has been steadily raining all morning. I think the waterproof over-trousers I bought last week will prove to be a wise investment!

Esther....

Meant to ask - did you get to see the concert at Leeds Castle? It's one of the not-too-far-away places on my list that I'd like to visit.

Leeds Castle Concert

Essex Girl, we did get to see the concert at Leeds Castle. We timed our arrival so that the worst of the rain had stopped and only missed a bit of the warm up. I can highly recommend the concert it was brilliant. Fireworks and a fly past of WW2 planes. It is a beautiful setting and well worth a visit. We are off to Rochester Castle Garden tonight for our last outdoor concert and it looks like sunshine today. No more lugging raincoats and umberellas about!

Blue skies and brilliant sunshine at 7 am this morning. Farmer has mowed the fields next door so assume it is going to stay fine for a few days yet.
