Yummy, thanks for that, I remember it like it were happening right now, probably because I really was absolutely convinced that I was looking at an alien. 100 years before and I may have been equally convinced that I was looking at a goblin.Linzechris, what a coincidence! The eagle didn't do much of a job of escaping, it just sat on top of its cage flexing its wings now and then, but it was still pretty exciting to be that close to a bird that at the time was considerably bigger than me.Like you I also occasionally walked around the edge of the Zoo to get a 'free' look at the animals, The Snowdon Aviary and the giraffes were so tall they were impossible to miss and the wolf enclosure was also findable, though the lazy beasts were usually asleep in their dens.One other animal I've seen there quite often is the Rolfus Harrisius, or Harris's Rolf, it could often be seen leading its pack (or "filmcrew", as I believe they are known) past the giraffe and antelope enclosures.
Has got to be the time we were in Turkey on holiday and had a private villa, the owners cooked a meal for us and served us on the veranda as if we were royalty. We both just sat, talked, ate and wondered if life could ever get any better as we looked at the stars on a beautiful evening.It did,,,,,,,,, we got married the following year!!TCXXX
