hiya- i haven't progressed an awful lot as we have had a house full of people over the last two weeks- including my dad, who happened to be reading the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo! he said he found it slow to start but once he got into it he couldn't put it down- he finished it in the days he was staying here- so all i need is a quite moment to get reading!! xx

Good to hear you persisted with it, Treehugger. My OH was the same and is now onto the second book. I've just finished the third and really enjoyed it.
Don't usually like such violent 'action' books, but there is something special about The Millenium Trilogy.

Brilliant books

I loved all three but I do agree that the first one was a bit difficult to get into.
Such a shame that the author died before he knew how successful the trilogy was. There are schools of thought that his researcher/partner actually wrote the books herself so perhaps we might get some more of the same.

Dragon Tattoo

I'm nearly finished it, Sammy, but be prepared to read at least the first 100 pages before it gets interesting. It's set in Sweden & well - - - I wouldn't want to write a spoiler! I've enjoyed it though I think perhaps it's somewhat over-hyped.

Sam there is quite a lot of graphic sex in it. In the first book there is a particularly long violent incident that seems almost gratuitious but then you read the next two books and the incident becomes a fundemental element of the outcome. He wrote and planned all books as a complete trilogy so although you can read them in isolation they make much better reading as a whole
