I know it's not a recent book but my favourite is still 'The Poisonwood Bible' by Barbara Kingsolver.

Not a new book but.....

Just finished "Fried Green Tomatoes at The Whistle Stop Cafe", by Fannie Flagg. It was also made into a film starring Kathy Bates and Jessica Tandy. I found it a thoroughly entertaining comic novel.

Glad - if someone told me it was about family and religion I would have composted the book. But it was superb. I've since read all of her work and wonder when or if anything else is coming.

The Shadow Of The Wind Carlos Ruiz Zafon. Not my usual type of book but really enjoyed it. Very interesting characters.
