The Icehotel

I've just "googled" it - fascinating. Definitely different and I'm sure you will enjoy your stay.

The Icehotel

Expat, the whole hotel is carved out of it! You only stay in the ice rooms for one night for obvious reasons....

From what I can make out, they have a hotel attached, but then carve the actual Icehotel next to it, apart from the rooms there are sculptures, a chapel and a bar.

Never mind pyjamas, I will be sleeping fully clothed.

We then move to a hotel called the Arctic Eden for three nights. A nice warm room with a proper bed!

ice

sounds like a plan Nor - the bar sounds a great idea - keeps your g&t cold while it sits on the bar!!

Ice Hotel

You'll probably be sleeping in reindeer skins Nor so you won't need your clothes, just snuggle up to hubby who, if he's anything like mine, will feel like a personal furnace! Also, if he's anything like mine, will complain about your cold feet - selfish aren't they?

Looking forward to hearing about your night "in the ice" sounds like loads of fun.

Ice hotel

I have a friend who stayed at the one in Quebec, Nor. She enjoyed cocktails at the bar but did mention that going to the loo in the middle of the night was not a highlight of the trip!!!!

The Icehotel

I will definitely not be getting out of bed in the middle of the night.....

The Icehotel...

Wonder if we will get there? Supposed to be flying from Heathrow on Wednesday morning..... :o

Fingers crossed...

for you Nor. With a bit of luck things will have improved and you'll manage your trip from icy old Heathrow to a fabulous ice hotel.

fingers crossed...

Thanks Liz! We originally booked it because we wanted to be somewhere cold and snowy for Christmas - might as well have just stayed at home and switched off the central heating and opened all the windows!

Good Luck Noreen...

.....the airports seem OK at the moment. Did you get to see Cinderella?

Icehotel

Thanks EG, all ready to go, just hope we actually take off as the connecting flight from Stockholm is only once a day so if we miss leaving the UK we've had it.

Saw Cinderella on Friday, it was fantastic, the stage setting is really good, everything else, dancing, music, costumes were their usual Matthew Bourne best. He is so clever....... Are you eating first Ann? Some good restaurants in Exmouth Market which is only a five minute walk from Sadler's Wells, we went to The Ambassador.
