Funny isn't it Nenna? And yet the rest of the site is unbelievably busy, only here is quiet!

Just to oblige you, Nenna, I've opened a new topic about today's processed meat scare :)

its oh so quiet...

Having been away from the forum for quite some time, and recently coming back, I have noticed how much quieter it is.

Not half as many people here as I seem to remember.

That's what I was thinking! I'd love to know which specific parts of the site get the most hits. What do you think of the poppy seeds in the sponge cake?

Not if they want to watch the basic sponge recipe in Lesson 1, they aren't. I spent ages yesterday trying to get the first video to show, with zero success.

However, this did result in my zipping around the site for quite a while, clicking on all manner of areas in hopes of finding a new route to the first video lesson. Perhaps this is why the rest of the site looked busy yesterday!!

Cookery School (Quiet Forum)

I'm maybe alone in this but while the cookery school video (No1 Sponge) was a truly excellent production, I haven't yet looked at No2 - the Coffee and walnut cake. Simply because I don't want to make a coffee and walnut cake right now. Nice to know it's there, and when I want to make one, I'll watch it but it - by itself - would not encourage me to visit this site.

On the other hand, some main courses or suggested meals would attract me every week.

Probably just me, but I feed it back in case it's of interest to the marketing bods.

I'm quiet because I'm avoiding all things cake, being on the low carb diet still :) There's a lot of cake talk at the moment - wonder why? ;)

Whilst I'm here - a little reminder that I was trying to arrange another Delia get together for around July 26th (but not ON July 26th, which is my Dad's birthday and the reason I know I'll be in the UK around then) this year. The Cricketers in Brighton, where we met in 2011 would seem to be an appropriate venue, and within reach of several members. Does this sound like a plan? An alternative suggestion is the cheese/charcuterie place some of us met in last year (La Cave &"225; Fromage?), in Hove, or indeed the Hove Kitchen, which is right opposite the cheese place. Anyway - I'm babbling now, so will stop, but please let me know if interested!

Following your comment Jampling, I tried to get back to Lession 1 this morning without success. I could get the Introduction but not Lesson 1 ??

Videos

I am not sure if I can get anyone to look at the videos today, but if you view the site in Firefox it goes through to the correct video, in Safari it goes though to the wrong one - weird..

Tompeters - Delia felt that starting with cakes it would attract more people, to the school, plus it fits in well with the cakes book. Obviously she intends to move it on to other areas of cooking and not just stick to cakes.
