Valentines Day

Not, just another way to waste money, extortionate price of flowers and cards to send to and from teachers, dogs, cats.
364 other days in the year to show each other how much we care .

Valentines Day

Well, I've got a card for my husband, and have told him he's taking me out for dinner tomorrow, so I guess I'm 'doing' V Day this year. I was away on his birthday, so we're sort of celebrating it tomorrow instead. Works for me, 'cos I get to eat out again!

Valentines day

For many years now we have made it a special day. I prepare a hand written menu (all of which i keep) and cook three courses, all new dishes that I've never done before! Foolish or exciting? You decide! I decorate the table, light some candles, put some classical music on and we have some fizz. The only thing that's changed over the years is that now we eat it at lunchtime.......our digestions are not what they used to be!
This years menu is
Seared scallops with coriander, chilli and guacamole.
Slow cooked duck legs in Port with dauphinoise potatoes and broccoli.
Gingered rhubarb jellies with shortbread biscuit.

I've bought him some hand cream and he's bought me a potato peeler! Who said romance is dead???

A load of rubbish

I agree - never celebrate it.
Just a commercial rip-off, in my opinion.
Good day for Hallmark but that's about it!!

Valentine's Day, etc

Don't bother with this day at all takes us all our time to remember wedding anniversary! We both know the date but when it comes to it we both forget We've been wed 30-odd years and I can count on one hand the times we've remembered. I also feel that Mother's Day and Father's Day are a rip off, too. I know the children love us and we love them, we always tell each other that at the end of a conversation on Skype or when we leave them.
