Can anyone recommend a hotel in North Norfolk please? I'm looking for one on a DBB basis in October to stay at for our wedding anniversary!

HOTELS IN NORFOLK

Morston Hall, at Morston, owned by Galton Blackiston, lovely food we've eaten here, the food is exceptional. Not stopped overnight but the website has all the info. Would be our venue of choice for a very special occasion. Another hotel where we've stayed and would recommend is The White Horse on the coast road at Brancaster Staithes. Super rooms in the grounds and the food served in the elevated restaurant, with great views, is also excellent. A nice relaxed atomsphere. Again google it for the website.
Have a lovely anniverary wherever you choose. x

Thanks Foxy. I had a look at Morston Hall and they don't give any prices on their website which probably means that it's a lot of money! Funnily enough I was looking at The George earlier this morning and will definitely put that on the short list.

I meant the White Horse, though I expect I've looked at a George Hotel too!

We have stayed at Byfords in Holt. The rooms are beautiful, food is good and very relaxed dining. They also have their own deli attached. Even if you do not stay there Holt itself is a lovely village to visit. Has a beautiful cookshop in one of the courtyards off the high street (from memory near Boots), an Aga shop and also a small department store which when you enter is a little like a tardis which has a wonderful food hall (similar to a mini Harrods).

The food at Byfords looks wonderful June. I checked the rooms and it would cost about £700 for a three night stay - hope to find somewhere a bit cheaper than that. Will definitely visit Holt and have lunch or afternoon tea there though. Thanks for the recommendation.

Norfolk.....

Would certainly recommend Byfords for a meal or afternoon tea. Holt is a great place to explore. I don't know about hotels but we stayed at a lovely B&B at Cley last weekend called Kings Head Cottages and got a lovely, homely welcome,

The Red lion at Stiffkey is very good and reasonable. You are within easy reach of Holt and the lovely marshes at Stiffkey for walking.

Fabulous Hotel

In the end I decided on The Beechwood Hotel in North Walsham as it was in a central position for places we wanted to visit. All the staff were so pleasant and efficient; nothing was too much trouble, and the restaurant/food fantastic. Not surprisingly they were busy with plenty of guests and we were ungraded to one of their four-poster rooms with a bathroom bigger than a couple of our bedrooms!

Sorry Essex Girl - we have only just got this up and running. Pity it wasn't a little earlier!
