Berghaus Pasha Cookware

my wife came home today laden with a set of Berghaus Pasha Cookware that she bought in a local charity shop... of course there are no instructions and I can't find a web site for the company... does anyone have any experience of these pans?

BP Cookware

I'm sorry I've never heard of these pans.

In what way are they different from normal pans, so they need instructions?

Most cookware is 'Plug and Play'.

Berghaus Pasha Cookware

To me they all look like mini pressure cookers... with an in-built thermostat in each of the lids.

Apparently they provide a healthier way of cooking using little or no water for veggies and no oil or fat for meat... plus they are supposed to be 'stackable' allowing you to utilise three pans at the same time in a stack on one burner...

That sounds veryinteresting, I'm sure someone will come along soon who knows all about them.

How to use Berghaus.

If your wife had the genuine article then you have a good buy. The last time I looked, Berghaus Pasha Royale pan sets had a retail price of just a tad over 800 euros, so there are probably some knock-offs out there.
Berghaus is a Belgian company, producing not only pans but also cutlery, crystal, porcelain, knives etc. I have a book which came with my set, with about 30 pages in English. The set carries a lifetime guarantee under normal use (generally means 30 years in EU). If there is some way of scanning the relevant pages and getting them to you, please let me know. One of the main things you should know is that the lids with thermometers in them should not be put into the dishwasher, as water can get forced into the temperature gauge. Neither is the gauge oven proof. Only put the pans on a smaller burner, as large gas rings can heat up the handles (and crack the underneath), and are a waste of fuel anyway on a small pan. Like I said, if there is a moderation system allowing me to post the relevant pages, pleas let me know.

Berghaus part 2

I was trying to see if I could get any info on line to refer you to, and came across a site called robbevan.com with a long article under "Berghaus Knives Scam". This is a series of threads which in effect says that Berghaus pans are made in China and are being flogged door to door, worldwide. I bought my set second hand, paid nowhere near the suggested price, and have always been pleased with them. However, having read quite a few of the threads, I won't be buying any more. Watch out!

BP Pans

thanks for replying... my wife bought the pans from a charity shop... so maybe the person who donated them got scammed... they seem good quality just as a basic pan set.

I'm not aware of any moderation system on here that will allow you to scan the docs but I am happy to provide an email address if you want.

Thanks for your kind offer.

Berghaus instructions

Hi there, I was wondering if there was a way to get the instructions to you without having to post your email address on a public website, possibly making a target for spam and malware. When I said that there were pages of instructions, a lot of them are recipes, but there are some hints and tips. I'm happy to transfer this information on to you, but am trying to think of the best way to do it. Any ideas of a discussion forum that might be suitable. Not sure that this is the correct one to post hints and tips on a dubious product, even if I've been happy with my set of pans!!!

Berghaus waterless pans

I have been using these pans for about 16 years. They are fantastic. You need about 1 inch of water to cook veg. Very low heat after the water boils. The lid tells you what temperature the pan has reached. Normally the pans come with a recipt book and lifelong guarantee. I am always recommending these pans to people.

berghaus contact details

Hi, I have a set of these pans, and use them as normal, however I have ruined one of my pan lids and want to contact Berghaus directly, having moved house I have lost their receipt/guarantee. Do you have their contact details?

probably no outlet for replacement

If you read more of the threads to this post, you will see that your pans, although giving you good service (I am still using mine daily) are probably a knock off of Berghoff pans and therefore it is unlikely that you will find anyone to replace the thermostat. By the way, the instructions that came with mine said not to put the lids in the dishwasher, as it could damage the thermostat.

No address on the guarantee!

See my previous post. I still have the instructions and "guarantee" for my set of pans but there are no contact details, sorry.
