Knitting - but food related

I was given some Ferrero Rocher chocolates each covered with knitted Christmas puddings (brown wool - about 10 rows stocking stitch then white wool topping with decreasing to make three sections so it's a pud shape when stitched up, and little decoration sprig of holly on top) Are there any clever knitters out there who would be able to replicate the pattern if I sent one to them? The person who gave them to me bought them from a bazaar. They are so cute and I would love to knit some for next Christmas! Have looked in a wool shop and on line but no luck so far.

Plum Pudding

Thanks for that, Guacamole. I did come across it yesterday but thought it looked more like a tree decoration. However, have had another read through and I think it would probably be OK if it wasn't stuffed and stitched at the bottom so have printed it off. Have never heard of 8ply wool but will investigate. Thanks again.

Wool

Don't know if you can get 8ply where you are but you could use 2 balls of 4ply together at the one time and that would give you you're 8ply The only thing I use 4ply now for is babies cardis - I've now got too used to double knitting and bigger.

8ply wool

Didi - I had a look on Google and got the impression that 8ply was from Australia/NZ and that the equivalent here is double knitting wool. Perhaps that does equate to double 4ply....? Will have to do a trial run with double, just to see what size emerges!

I am SO impressed!

Not only do you manage to make a knitting and food posting, but you and EG are now speaking a foreign language!

You look like a knitter Noreen! Good thing it's a Christmas pudding (not to mention the chocolate) otherwise we'd be in trouble....

Knitting - but food related

I can knit a scarf on very big needles. That's about it!
