Where do I get feuilles de brick pastry?

I have just bought Delia's new Christmas cookbook and, in 2 recipes, she uses something called feuilles de brick (brick pasty). I have never heard of this before nor has my supermarket. Can anyone tell me where to get it? Thank you.

brick pastry

this ingredient keeps getting a mention lately.

I was just wondering, what this pastry is actually like, basically because i don;t go to a waitrose (and also i do not think there are many waitroses up north - i could be wrong) so i was wondering if it is like anything that it can be substituted for?

my book still hasn;t come!!!!

feuilles de brick

Hi Sam, you should be able to find it in most supermarkets.
It is just like Filo pastry but it doesn't break so much while handling and also it is crispy when cooked in the oven.

James, you are quite right i am not up north.....but many of our readers are up north!!! so i thought i would ask on their behalf - being neighbourly and all that.

seems a trip to waitrose is on the horizon then.

Sammy.

Waitrose do have branches up north, just not so many. A visit to Waitrose is a reason to visit me! Park here and we can go together!

waitrose

There are branches up north at Buxton and Sandbach, we travel to both from the Potteries every few weeks to stock up on items the others don't stock, always come back loaded with goodies. Will look for this pastry, never used it. Foxy,x

Many thanks James - my local supermarket is a Waitrose but I didn't spot any when I last looked. Will try again. Scottie

I am not surprised that feuilles de brick pastry is available from Waitrose. However I live in Northern Ireland and we are not blessed with a Waitrose, Does anyone know where I can source this in Northern Ireland?

feuilles de bric pastry

I would use filo pastry as a substitute, it will be very similar, and most supermarkets and delis stock it.
