Fondant Icing sugar

Haven't a clue what galangal is, or need to know what to use if you can't buy creme fraiche locally? We're sure our knowledgeable members will be able to point you in the right direction...

Fondant Icing sugar

My husband has just given me Delia's Cakes for my birthday and she refers to "Fondant Icing Sugar" - is this normal icing sugar or something different?

Fondant icing sugar

Hello Sally,

Fondant icing sugar can be purchased alongside normal icing sugar in most supermarkets. It has dried glucose syrup in it, which makes the icing smoother, glossier and softer.

You can still use normal icing sugar if you prefer.

Have you watched Delia’s online cookery school on this site. I think you might enjoy it.

Best wishes

Lindsey

I've found it! I've very much enjoyed the first 2 episodes of Delia's cookery school & will be sure to watch the rest.

Many thanks
Sally
