Keen to know which brand to buy? Or want to share a great purchase with the rest of us? This is the place to do it...
Hi I'm looking for small and medium hob-proof baking dish for the top of my electric hob. Have no idea what I'm looking for can anyone help. Brands, prices, links etc. if allowed by Forum rules. Many thanksKevin
what would you be using the dish for? as i would never put any kind of dish on my hob, certainly not anything earthenware or pyrex, however, I do use a terracotta tagine on my hob, but i heat a heat diffuser - never on a naked heat.I would get the best roasting tins you can afford, i have Vitreous Enamel, which i use for making my gravy in or for heating the tin up for yorkshire puddings etc, you can get vitreous cook ware from almost all cook ware shops, and supermarkets, i have had mine for over 20 years now, and they don;t warp or twist in the oven or on the hob (which is gas - in fact all my hobs have been gas). And then, there are the lovely but heavy and sometimes costly cast iron makers, le crueset for example, they do some lovely shallow lidded dishes great for the oven too.
I have some Pyrex pyroflam dishes which are safe on the hob as well as in the oven. I'm not sure if they still sell them as mine are at least 25 years old, maybe more.
