Watch out!

Yes - watch out for restaurant staff who don't bring your change - pretend they thought it was a tip!
Apart from that we really enjoyed our stay there.

Thanks Bolas, will give it all go. My husband doesn't eat pork, so he will just have to get on with it!

It was great! We were extremely lucky with the weather, very sunny we didn't need to be togged up at all. We had a local guide for half a day so got a good overview of the city, the next day we walked, and walked and walked. We visited the market you mentioned Bolas our guide took us in there for a coffee, we couldn't get over how clean it was!

Really liked the Hungarian food, and preferred it more to what we had on Prague a couple of years ago. We even found a brilliant Italian restaurant!

Saw the Shoes on the Danube sculpture - absolutely heartbreaking. There is a row of metal shoes set in the stone at the side of the river, they are all different shapes and sizes, adults and children. They are in the spot where the Nazis marched Jews, made them remove their shoes and then shot them before they were pushed in to the water. Very, very moving.

The buildings in the city are falling into great disrepair, which is a shame. They are huge, majestic buildings, but nobody has the massive amount of money needed to repair them and many are inhabitable and empty. You just can't imagine how they will ever get them back to their former glory, and so wonder what they will look like in years to come.

All in all it was a great city break, we liked the people, the food and the wine. I'd really recommend it to anyone wanting somewhere you can get round in a few days.

Lemain, Bolas is referring to the post with the title Delia's Lent Appeal in What's Cooking. Also you may also see on what's Cooking my request for suggestions for improving the forums which I am compiling.

If you have ideas please email me on feedback@deliaonline.com so I can add them to all the other ideas and suggestions that have already been sent in to me.
