County Wexford

My husband has a short training job in County Wexford shortly, so we thought I'd go along too and we'd stay on an extra couple of days to turn it into a little holiday.

Does anyone have any tips on places to go, things to see, nice (not eyewateringly expensive) restauraunts etc?

Thanks.

I was born in Co Wexford, it is a truly beautiful county.
A few places to see are ,
Ferrycarrig,
Hook Lighthouse,
Kilmore Quay,
Court own Harbour.
The slob lands
The town itself.
Heritage park, this serves the most delicious food.
Pub food is very good in Ireland..
Kennedy park , that is near New Ross, about 10 miles outside Wexford as you head out on the road to Waterford.on a clear day you can see to Wales.
Wellington bridge has history.
If you Want to see Ballykissangel, scenery there is totally stunning , head towards Dublin, through Enniscorthy , heading for Wicklow , it is signposted, the vale of Avoca, a day out to remember.
The whole of the south of England is a feast for your eyes.
I still love to take the train from Wexford to Dublin , you wind through the ,most stunning scenery you have ever seen.
Ferrycarrig Hotel just outside the town is built overlooking the Slaney River , it serves delicious food at very reasonable prices.
Hope you enjoy your time there , I do & I was born there !!!!!

Love the place

Oh yes Liz, I love the land of my birth, & I love England the same.
I have lived here for 45 years, & am totally loyal to England , but the land of my birth is Ireland.
I owe so much to this country .
When I am getting ready to go to Ireland on holiday I always say I am going home , & when I am in Ireland I want to get back home to Bucks , so I have 2 homes.

Love The Place

Many thanks Anastasia for your input regarding County Wexford. It brought back lovely memories. I've visited most counties in Southern Ireland over the years and never tire of visiting. Great scenery, people, food, music etc. can't fault it.
