I'm visiting next week with two friends. Spending time in Dublin with an Irish friend then heading off to Galway and touring from that area. Can anyone suggest Restaurants amd B & B's in that area. Many thanks. I've visited a few times in the past but haven't made a note of where we stayed or places to eat.

Moran's The Weir Cottage just outside Oranmore - seafood and great Guinness. McDonagh's Fish Restaurant in Galway, at the bottom of the Quays, near the Spanish Arch.

Hope you have a great time!

If you are heading west of Galway city to see Connemara, a nice pub (just past Connemara Coast hotel on left overlooking the sea) in Furbo (5 miles west of Galway city), (can't remember the name) does lovely food. Seafood chowder in particular is lovely, my favourite chowder ever.
Enjoy the trip

Had a great time but a tad more expensive than when I visited last time. Stayed in Bewley Hotel Dublin first two nights and ate there, which was very good. Toured the city. Headed off for Galway and stopped off at a Pub in Enfield where we had delicious Toasties for Lunch. Booked into the Salthill Hotel on the Promenade which was very comfortable and I could see Galway Bay from my window. We toured around Connemara etc and had Lunch in Lydons Bar. We ate Dinner again in the Hotel which was very good. The following day we made our way back to Dublin and stopped off for Lunch at The Loft in Kilbeggan where we had a hearty Veg. Soup with Soda Bread. We spent our last evening at the Bewley Hotel at Dublin Airport as we had to be at the Airport for 8 am. I'm afraid we didn't actually visit any Restaurants other than the Hotels where we stayed. After being out for most of the day we were pleased to shower etc and not venture out again in the evening. Many thanks though for the recommendations you all gave me prior to my visit.
