booked a last minute deal to Bulgaria does anyone have any idea what their national dish is

Bulgaria.

National dish is something called Kavarma. Its pork.

Google it and have a look.

Not sure about their national Dish, but look out for the Shopska Salads which are generally served before your meal, chopped cucumbers, peppers and tomatoes with a nice dressing and crumbled Feta cheese on top. lovely and fresh.......been a long time since I went but everthing was so cheap. Look out for the spices on Nessabur, fresh fried whitebait straight off the boats and the cheese on toast snacks served with a shake of celery
salt....very nice.

Many thanks for all your suggestions and as promised, we did have the Shopska salad on many occasions and loved it. we also took a trip and included was a 4 course lunch in a lovely restaurant in Sozopol where we had a Shopska salad a fantastic haricot been soup a pork Kavarma and ice cream. very delisious
