Greek Holidays

Can anyone reccomend a greek resort suitable for children aged 2 and 5. We have had great holidays but after the children had grown. Also I think they, and parents, are used to spanish hols with play areas and such. Any ideas?

Yassou !

Bit more info might be useful.

Are the children old enough / do they enjoy sailing, water sports? Possibly a bit too young. Do they just want to be on a beach?

Having spent my holiday times avoiding children :0( I have heard good reports of families, with young children, having super holidays on Corfu, Crete and Zante does have some marvellous sandy beaches..... Actually, I have spent some holidays with children (met on the holiday) and we all enjoyed it. Greece changes people :0)

Loads more Greek islands and mainland to explore.......

Hi Biggles

Agree about Greece changing you and not just tha waistline. We enjoyed Crete and Corfu plus several more. Like you without tha children. My g/twins are 4 1/2 and enjoy the beach and pool. They also like play areas with bouncy castle things that seem to be popular in some spanish resorts. Maybe it's time to wean them onto something different! That also goes for food. Chicken nuggets and pizza in Menorca last year didn't look that great. I'm beginning to think of swordfish and village sausages and wines. Not to mention complimentary brandy after a meal. Think I'll put some Ouzo in the next batch of soup!

Hi James
Santorini has been on the to go list for a while but has escaped us so far. Skopelos and Skiathos were good, apart from the boat trip in between, especially when we followed a taverna sign while out walking. Thinking that we had found it we went through the gate sat down to be served only to realise we were sat in someone's back garden. The lady of the house didn't speak english, nor we greek. No wonder she looked puzzled when we asked for beer. Will definitely look at Santorini again.

Went to a wonderful resort in the Halkidiki area of Greece, called the Anastasia Resort. Run by a company called Neilson, very family friendly, and for days when you want a little grown up time theres a kiddies club that will do all sorts of activities including sailing!

Thanks for the suggestion. I will pass it on to the family. We have arranged time away in Dorset, Northumbria and Scotland for this year. Greece again would be great but would the earth move again from an earthquake in Kefalonia in 2008. Not to mention sleeping in the same bed as Jude Law while in Cornwall.Details on a postcard from...
