Flapjacks

Can anyone help? I love flapjacks but whenever I make them, they fall apart. I leave them until cold before cutting. I use 4 oz butter, 4oz soft brown sugar, 6oz oats and 1 good dessertspoon of syrup.

Hi, no-name are you asking in the right place? Try 'can you help?'
Are you cooking the flapjacks for slightly too long?
Don't forget to add your name and location to your profile.

Thanks Welshcookie for pointing me in the right direction. I'm not finding this site very easy to use and although I've tried to put my name in 'My Profile' there does not seem to be anywhere to put it! Hence no name.

Weird.

I think that's the recipe I use, and mine come out fine, if not a bit on the too firm side. Are you melting all the butter, brown sugar and syrup together until just melted, then putting the oats in? I also score mine after 10 minutes, then cut when cold. Are they bubbly when they come out of the oven?
Jennifer.

Weird - Flapjacks

I'll try scoring them before they are cold. Sandra suggested less sugar and more syrup. I'll try that too. They are bubbly when they come out of the oven. Thanks.

Sorry, that sounded rude and I didn't mean to be. Best wishes from CQ
