Classic Christmas Cake

I am about to make this cake, but am unsure about using the Plain Flour and no raising agent. Does it work out nicely?

Kay, I haven't made that particular recipe but I always use plain flour (and no raising agent) in my Xmas cakes.

If that's the Delia one, then I've made it several times and for good reason - it's superb. SR flour is never used in a heavy fruit cake. You don't want the cake to rise; rather it should be flat on the top, ready for decorating. Eggs are a raising agent. Good luck.
