Gazpacho

Has anyone made Auntie Delias gazpacho from the complete cookery course? It's 30 degs in the shade here(sorry!)and tomatoes and peepers are in abundance so just fancied trying something different.
Any tips welcome.

gazpacho

I love gazpacho, but I haven't made Delia's version. Traditionally it should have bread in it, but apart from the one I make, I have only ever had it like that in Spain. Still yummy without.
I wish it was gazpacho weather here!

Gazpacho

Hi Rachel, could you post your recipe please? It's good to compare. Never made it before so might combine Delias with yours. Notice in your profile you have a place in France too. Whereabouts, North, South or in the middle?? It has been a beautiful June here, will send some sun back for you!

Gazpacho

Hello! I'll look up the recipe when I get home tonight. My place in France is at the bottom of the Cotentin Penninsular - Basse Normandie. Very pretty and green, but very wet! I will be off there this weekend. I won't hold my breath for sunshine, but am looking forward to a very indulgent shopping session or two in Leclerc!

Gazpacho

Thanks Rachel. OH actually made it last night according to Delia, but we haven't got a liquidiser down here just a food processor,so it wasnt completely smooth, but is it supposed to be, that is the question! We sieved some but left some with "bits" in. I preferred the bitty one but OH preferred it completely smooth. I felt that that was too watery for me.

We are near the Spanish border so a long way south!

Gazpacho

I don't have a blender either. I think a few pieces is the norm...
I put the recipe I use on my profile, although as i say, I rearely stick precisely to this (or indeed any) recipe precisely I'm afraid! (Something I didn't realize until I once had to test some reccipes for a booko at work!)

Chilled fennel Gazpacho

I see recipe of the day is chilled fennel gazpacho, sounds lovely, especially in the 29 degrees here. Sorry, I promise to package some sun up and send back home.

Anyone tried it? How was it?

Hi!
I made Delias gazpacho last week & soaked a couple of small slices of crust less ciabatta in water for about half an hour, I then squeezed out the water & added this to the final blending process, it was lovely, When a gazpacho has bread in it, its called salmorejo. Enjoy!
