Hello Does anyone have any recommendations for a Raclette machine and whether the hot stone on top cooks meat properly or if it is a bit of a gimmick.I have some nice french raclette cheese which is placed in little trays which are grilled.Which makes are the best if any etc. Thanks.
We bought one from Andrew James and can highly recommend it. It has a large hob plate, one half is griddle the other smooth. We've cooked chicken strips, king prawns and thin steaks on it with great success, also courgettes, tomatoes etc. The grill underneath also gets very hot so cheese melts quickly. It's very easy to clean too. I'm not sure I'd want to use it for more than 4 people as it's a fiddly way to eat!My problem is that I can't get raclette cheese even in larger branches of Sainsbugs and Tesco.Kilmory
Thanks for your reply. I will buy one on Amazon. I bought my raclette cheese in France and have had some lovely raclettes over there. they specialise in melting cheese.
HiWe bought one in France but it was called a Pierde. It has a marble half oval stone on 1/2 then a griddle on the other 1/2 underside is moulded for 3 pancakes. It has 8 little pans with spatulas. I cook waxy potatoes and slice, use baton bread slice then both topped with cheese. Slice chicken, beef & mushrooms to use on the hot stone, cherry tomatoes to griddle along with asparagus. We use it regular in & out it is fun keeping everything on the move. Have fun
