i find just the basic hand mixer does very well for most of delias cake recipes ,dont need anything fancy ,does the job thats the main thing .
The big mixers often have an optional processor attachment. Pretty certain the Chef does. Processors great for pastry, rubbed in mixtures, bread and biscuits but not as good as mixers for mixes requiring the incorporation of air.
