Slow Cooker - what size?

Keen to know which brand to buy? Or want to share a great purchase with the rest of us? This is the place to do it...

Slow Cooker - what size?

I've made the decision to purchase a slow cooker and going with the Which? recommended Cuisinart one, after much research.

However, this comes in a 4l or 6.5l capacity but, can I find anywhere that tells me roughly how many servings each capacity gives? Of course not. I've emailed Cuisinart directly but not heard back.

Whilst there is only me and hubby, I tend to cook at least double the amount so I can freeze some food for his lunches, though on occasion I do cook for around 6 people.

Just wondered if there were any suggestions out there re size in terms of your experiences.

Many thanks

Depending on your storage space Tracy, I'd go for the larger one. I gave my smaller one to my SIL (who lives alone) and got a 6.5l one. Most of the time there's only two of us, but like you I like to cook a double batch and freeze for another time. Also, you can do a whole chicken in a larger one.

Many thanks Liz, having not really come across them before, didn't want to end up with something that would feed 20 people! Will take your advice and go for the bigger one as hubby's agreed to organising storage space for it, bless him.

Thanks again.

Personally I'd buy the larger one and freeze down the left overs.
