Hi Expat Badger
Yes I have some of their gear - it is from NZ and popular here.
I've got one of their washing machines and it's fine (only had it a couple of months) and a fridge. Also an oven in our holiday house, but haven't used it much. Seems OK though.
I know a few people with their dishwashers - they do a 2 drawer one, so you can run half at a time for smaller washes. It's the only one like it here - I think they have a patent at the moment. They broke down a lot when they first came out, but I haven't heard that recently.
When we get a new fridge I'd be happy to get another F&P - they're very energy efficient.
They don't generally rate as well as Miele - but they don't have the price tag either (at least over here) - but they rate with the better quality appliances, generally.
Hope that helps, but I take no responsibility for any problems you might encounter!!!

Fully understood Sonya!! I shan't be sending the lawyers round!

funny i wondered if you would know them, being from 'down there'

yes they aren't cheap but they look great...

i like the idea of the two drawer washer and them being independant of each other...loved the double oven too.

just trying to get some idea of budget for ripping out the kitchen and starting again. Think the appliances will be the most expensive part

Well that's a relief, Expat B!!!

In Oz I'd say F&P are middle price range (Miele the top) except for the dishwasher, which is a bit pricey. But if we eventually buy a DW then the double drawer is the one I'd like (we haven't had one for the 6 years we've been in our current house.)
I think it was the independent drawers, so 2 motors, that caused the problems originally, but hopefully they've got better since then.

I was wondering if F&P are in UK or Europe yet, but as I am the only one to reply I gather the answer is 'No' ?
