Remoska Fantastic !!!!!!!

Hi guys,
How are you all ?
Keeping well I hope .
I think it's about time that I gave you an update on the "Grand Remoska" electric cooker that I bought way back in January this year don't you . (:0~
Well it's a truly wonderful cooker and if it were to go bang tomorrow yes I would buy another one for sure !! As for the recipe book that Lakeland sell as an extra for this cooker it's a must have .
The recipe for "Chicken Breast Stuffed With Seafood" with a lemon butter sauce is beautiful and a favorite too .
Also "Chicken With Lemon On a Bed Of Roast Vegetables" .
Among other things like "Tagliatelle With Mushroom Sauce"
and so on .
I haven't been brave enough to try and bake a cake or any pastry in it yet but I will !
There is also a nice little window in the lid so that you can see how everything is going .

Still having FUN!!!!

re remoska fan

Jag, good to hear your report on it. Often thought of getting one. I use my oven a lot because of bread every other day as well as roasts etc. Can you do bread in them? I bake a lot of pies too.

Remoska Fantastic !!!!!!!

Hi Gerry,
I hope that your well my friend ?
Gerry it doesn't give to much info on bread making and the only recipe I can see in the recipe book is for "Irish Soda Bread" . I would think that you could make rolls in it but a loaf my push the lid up or even off !!! Remember that the cooking element is in the lid it's self and there's no lock . The recipe book gives six recipes on baking which are . Almond Cake , Chocolate Cake From Vienna , Eccles Cake , Irish Soda Bread , Mince Tarts , Redcurrant And Blackberry Cake and last but not least Scones .
But under the desserts you have a choice of about 25 recipes from pies to things like fruit cobblers, cheese cake's, Plum bread pudding . (I like the sound of that !!)
The recipe book it's self has 200 recipes in it but once your used to it you will be doing some of your old favorites in it to I'm sure .

I hope this is of help to you my friend .

Remoska Fantastic

Hi Jag, here we are again! Was just wondering how long it takes to cook things eg. baked potatoes. I hate them done in the microwave but it takes forever in the normal oven. And does it really use a lot less electricity?

Remoska

I am interested in this but totally unsure!

Elpe, as for jacket spuds, why not just leave them in the oven for 2 hrs at 140. They dont need tending.

I'd not eat a microwaved one.

Baked pots

But James, if I fancy a spud for lunch, I don't want to wait two hours! I'm not organised enough to know how hungry I'll be after a gym visit! And re a previous post, have tried Lakeland toast bags for toasted sandwiches but I really don't find them all that successful. If I turn up the heat, the bread burns & if I don't, the filling doesn't get hot enough and there's nothing worse than lukewarm ham and cheese. Oh, woe is me!

JAMES

?

They are not made for toasted sandwich makers??????????????????????

Ah........

"But James, if I fancy a spud for lunch, I don't want to wait two hours! "

Elpe, I forget people eat at lunch time, I dont!!!

Yes, 2 hrs for your lunch is silly. Im used to putting the spuds in at 6, to eat at 8.

Remoska Baked Potatoes

Hi Elpe,
It's great to hear from you and I hope that your well ?
My friend it's much the same as using an oven on a cooker but without being able to change the temp . Baked potatoes will still take 1 to 1,1/2 hours to cook I'm sorry to say going by the recipe book . I wouldn't say that it cooks much quicker but you don't have to switch it on to warm up first .
As for using less electricity I think the answer is yes but haven't really put it to the test on that .

Hope this helps,
Jag :)

I am interested in this but totally unsure!

Hi James,
It's great to hear from you and I hope that your both well ?

Well what can I say I was the same as you about getting one as I was totally unsure as well .
But I'm very pleased I did get one .
I really wouldn't be without it now but have to say I couldn't be without a main cooker ether .
Like everything else there's a lot it can and will do well...But there's also some things it can't .
Like I say I wouldn't be with out mine now no way but it's up to you really my friend .

Hope this helps,
Jag :)

Toasting bags

Remoska,

I can't say that I have ever used Toasting bags as I still tend to use the grill to melt my cheese on toast .

Sorry not sold on that idea yet .

Have fun,
Jag :)

cakes in Remoska

I have just been reading your post re this....I made Eccles cakes in it, and they were lovely...the only thing I had an issue with was the recipe quantities. In the Remoska recipe book it stated over a pound of currants!!! I had almost as many left when I had made them, so the birds benefitted, as I had mixed butter and sugar with them as per the recipe.I contacted Lakeland, and they assured me the recipe was correct, but I have just emailed them again to say I disagree, having seen loads of Eccles cake recipes online that don't use anything like as many currants! They were good though, and also they took almost 25 minutes, as opposed to the 10 mins stated in the book.....

Remoska and James, you're back!

James, it's so good to see you're back, hope you've been having a great time and glad you've not taken offence over some of the drivel before Christmas.
