Omelette Pan

Hi,
I was wondering that too. I googled it and apparently it's a Mermaid Little Gem 8" omelette pan, but Amazon are out of it and don't know when it will be in, and Lakeland don't seem to have it. Has anyone got one and is it good? I use a non stick pan for omelettes and wonder would the egg stick to the aluminium?

Gibby, I've two of them, one small and the other the larger version, wouldn't be without them once you've got them seasoned well.

omelette Pan

Thanks everyone. I'm going to order one now. I love omelettes. My fav at the moment is mushroom, parmesan and basil or rocket, depending on which I have in store.

non stick for omelette

I have an Anolon Advanced omelette pan I bought for OH years ago and it's a great little pan. I also got one of those Green pan's from TK Maxx at a great price recently and it is also a fab pan. I definitely prefer a non-stick pan for an omelette.

Mermaid Pans

Are these mermaid pans the same ones as those being referred to in DTTD? The reference stated the company could not produce enough for the increase in demand after Delia had tested them to find the ultimate pan, but the brand was not mentioned.

Thanks,
Del

"Seasoning" a omlette pan.

seasoning your pan

I have just bought one too and I have found this method -
Wash the pan well (do not use abrasives) and dry it.
Generously sprinkle the bottom of the pan with coarse salt, then cover it with a half-inch layer of vegetable oil.
Let the pan sit at room temperature for 12 hours, then heat it over moderately low heat until the oil is very hot and just beginning to smoke.
Discard the oil and wipe the pan dry.
Never wash it after using; simply wipe it out with salt and a paper towel.
