Bake in a Mug

Lakeland is advertising mugs in which you can cook a cake or pudding in a microwave in just a few minutes. Has anyone tried these and, if so, what did you think of them? I think the cost of each mug is around £7.

Afternoon Dot, as long as your mug has no gold bits on it and just pottery you can use any mug, I certainly wouldn't go and spend £7 on one from Lakeland .

I suspect it is something you do once in the spirit of experimentation and hardly ever again.

There are recipes on the web if you want to try without buying a special mug.

The recipe I have (never tried it!) just says to bake in a large coffee mug. Don't need to buy a special one!!

Many thanks for your replies - I hadn't heard about this before and I was just intrigued. I wouldn't spend £7 on a special mug. Had a look at the recipes and thought they were a good idea for someone who lived alone.
