Combination microwave ovens

I've had 2 Panasonic combis in the last 5 years, the second also failed last week and the repair cost exceeds replacement cost.

Obviously I don't want another Panasonic so can anyone recommend another make and model, please? It's the convection oven part of it that's important to me for baking etc., so the element must not be in the roof of the oven.

Thanks.

combination ovens

I have a Sharp Combi oven which I've had for 18 years and it is still working perfectly. I use it all the time for baking, using the convection oven part of it more than anything else, although the combination and microwave also work well.

Mine is a Brother Hispeed oven in use since 1986! Never had a problem so far.... Touch wood.

Combination ovens

Thank you both for your replies. 2 days after I posted this the screen on our Panasonic TV died (the second time in 3 years) and whilst the engineer was here I asked him to look at the oven control panel, and he sorted the problem PDQ, free of charge, so I don't need a new oven just yet, now.

Whilst I was looking before I posted, Sharpe ovens got very good reviews.

Best micro combi

My neff micro combi is just the best ,crispy jacket potatoes in 20 minutes souffl&"233;s to die for, mine is the top of the range and I would suggest if you can afford it get one, functions are

Hot air, hot air plus, microwave , grill 2 settings, Circo roasting, micro combi gentle, micro combi intensive , low temperature cooking!, top,and bottom heat, bottom heat only.........then a pyrolitic cleaning setting bliss!

Panasonic

Very surprised you had an issue with Panasonic! Have you still got the appliance? I'd write or contact them, they are one of the better manufacturers and would be concerned to know the longevity of one of their appliances was so short.

It's worth making contact with reputable companies such as this for sure just to see what they have to say. My Mum purchased a Dualit kettle and toaster on my recommendation as mine were so good and reliable not much change from £200 for both so they are not cheap. The timer on the toaster broke and the kettle then literally blew up when they were about two years old, she was ready just to cut her losses and buy new ones, but I emailed their customer services saying how disappointed I was, they apologised and had the toaster repaired free of charge and sent a new kettle out the next day. Proper service does still exist sometimes!

It's annoying that it's usually cheaper to bin something and start again than a repair being prohibitively expensive.

I have a Panasonic combi, and despite having a double oven I use the fan and convection function regularly as it heats up so quickly, even quicker than the top oven.
