Recently purchased a smeg gas oven with fan, having cooked for years without incident in a gas oven, I am burning my scones at the bottom every time, and I have no desire to attempt a delicate sponge, can anyone advise what I may be doing wrong?

I never use the fan for any cakes, including scones. My advice is to stick to the conventinal method. I presume you reduce your oven temperature by 20 degrees on all things used on the fan facility?
Two ovens in my Neff, so use the top one (also a grill) for scones and cakes.

Ovens (Rosemary thread)

I wish I could turn off the fan on my Rangemaster Classic :(( I often use the Panasonic combi now on 'conventional' and while it does have a fan it cooks more like an ordinary oven.
