Delia Online Cookery School - Storing &freezing

Plastic storage box for loaf cakes. I have been looking for a storage box for loaf cakes for a while. They seem to be either too square or too shallow. What is the brand and size of the box used for the loaf cake shown in the 'Storing & freezing' video? Is it Lock&Lock? What size it it?
Thanks. Georgie

It does indeed look like lock and lock.

I have not seen loaf cake/bread shaped lock and lock in the supermarkets.

But there are plenty on Amazon. You need to look under lock and lock rectanglular.

I would think the 2.6 litre is a good size for a 2lb cake baked in a loaf tin.

I have various other sized lock and lock, and think they are fantastic, even freezing them hasn't had any detriment to my containers, or there locking functions.

I want to get one of these myself, as i do make various cakes in a loaf tin, from tea cakes, to lemon drizzle cakes and this will be perfect.

Have just measured my 2lb loaf tin, and compared to the 2.6 litre lock and lock measurements. And although the length maybe a bit tight...the height and width are perfect.

Thank you for bringing this subject up.

I am definitely getting one now.

Loaf cake storage

Hi!
I'm glad I was of some help. I was trying to find a way of contacting the DOCS team. I wonder how they receive the questions for the section showing the solutions previously supplied by the team.

James - That was the first place I went to, but it just refers you to the forum. The other contact methods are for the media etc. They say at the start and the end that individual enquiries can not be answered.

Very interesting. Is this a guess, or are you connected to the Delia team in some way?

Sam - Have a look at the link Noreen, Board Moderator posted. The clips look exactly the same as the ones on the box in the video. The brand is Addis Clip & Close 2.4L Rectangle. I'm going to look in Robert Dyas tomorrow.
Fingers crossed!

Georgie - Storage box

Georgi - it looks the same because it is the the one used in the Cookery School.

James does not work for Delia Online, he is just familiar with the site.

Christina

I wondered if someone could give me the measurements/dimensions of the loaf tin Delia uses please?

For Christina

Hello Christina,

The one we use for Delia’s recipes is either the 1lb Silverwood Delia Online Loaf tin or a traditional 2lb loaf tin that measures 19 x 12cm on the base and 9cm deep.

Best wishes

Lindsey
