Soda Stream

Does anyone have one of these or know the difference between the models?
I drink quite a lot of sparkling water and I also saw Heston recently using one to 'make' 'sparkling wine' which looked a good idea! I also like to provide non alcoholic drinks for guests and could make use of one of these.(I think)
Any info or input appreciated.x

Soda Stream.

The problem for me is lack of brands.

When I used it as a kid, you used to be able to buy branded syrup like Schweppes, Coke, etc, not is just generic tat.

Whilst I don't like cola very much anyway, I'm certainly not drinking fake cola.

(Oh, and it keeps going in and out of production which also worries me!)

Yes I know what you mean but wouldn't be using the stuff you add. Would just make fizzy water and possibly things like homemade lemonade and juice drinks.x

oh we had one when i was little too - white boxy thing with orange top and bottom and lever - pulled lever down - 2 squirts and scrummy cream soda/ginger beer/fizzy orange - those were the heady days of kitsch.

if your only thinking of using as a "soda" machine - have you thought about a soda syphon? the bullets are available in loads of places on line inc amazon - and syphons can be found in charity shops/fleabay/gumtree/amazon.

oh yes sam we had the same one! mostly used by Dad to make tonic for gin and tonic if i recall correctly. The bottles had screw caps too to keep the fizz in if you didn't use it all

remember the funny noise it made when 'fully fizzed'?? you knew if you kept going you'd be wiping the drink off the ceiling

Ooh, we didn't have bottles for ours. You poured the water into the top, pressed the two buttons and then you released the water below by pushing your glass against it.

I used to love it as a kid!

Soda Club

Hi, we bought a Soda Club from Soda Stream over 2 years ago. It's brilliant. Still using the same gas canister and the soda water keeps its fizz for a few days. I was getting Campari and Soda withdrawal symptoms until we bought the gadget xx
