Glass measuring Jugs

I've been watching the re-run of Delia's How to Cook. She uses a large measuring jug with the measurements raised in the glass.
Pyrex jugs wash off in the dishwasher.
Does any one know where you can buy one similar to Delia's? I've been to John Lewis and Lakeland and had no joy.
Or can you recommend a dishwasher proof jug, please?
Many thanks in advance if you can help

Measuring Jugs

Although I haven't had a problem with Pyrex measuring jugs, I can recommend the OXO ones that you can read from the top looking down, or from the side. If you haven't seen these in the shops, I'm sure you'll wonder what I'm talking about!

Never had a problem with Pyrex jugs. Is your dishwasher detergent particularly strong?

I had a very nice Bodem plastic one. But I've dropped it once too often and it leaks a bit and I can't find a replacement. Only a glass one and very expensive.

I think I would stay with the Pyrex, I have three different sizes.

Maybe I had a faulty jug - all the lettering came off. I use Finish Dishwasher tablets

Pyrex.

I've never had that problem either, but pyrex jugs pour so badly.

I have the Oxo one that Essex Girl mentions, but of course, because of the ledge inside, its impossible to combine ingredients in it.

I love the concept of the OXO jug, not having to bend down to read the measurement but the blooming ledge does annoy me sometimes!

Glass measuring Jugs

I have a few Pyrex jugs in a variety of sizes.
I agree with James that they don't pour well, but I use the larger ones - 2litre and 1litre as mixing bowls. Also use them for cooking things in the Microwave - the handle makes them very easy to remove and hold while mixing e.g. sauces.

Glass measuring jugs

Hi, just looked on Ebay and if you just type in 'glass measuring jugs' you will see a few like you are describing. some are vintage and some are new, mostly buy it now and not that expensive. Take a look. x

P.S. re glass measuring jugs

I just took a look at my Pampered Chef measuring jug and saw that has a raised glass measure on it. They also come in two sizes and have a rubber lid so it might be worth looking at their website as they do mail order so you don't have to know a consultant.Bit more pricey though.
