Tefal

Don't know why no-ones's entering this. I have no FP or DW so the Tefal products sounds fine to me. Problem is I haven't bought any ready-meals

Ready meals

Same here, I don't buy or eat ready meals or processed food, so it's a bit difficult, really!

I think perhaps we're not the ideal audience..lol!

Challenge

So I signed up to this and immediately started the week cheating. Two evenings of working late and then eating out meant while I didn't have any convenience food I didn't cook anything either. Since then I've knuckled down and stuck to some quick easy recipes like steamed fish with veg. Last night I made the penne with tomato sauce that Tefal suggest and it was fine if maybe not the most startling taste sensation I've ever had. This morning I was up early and had time to make a lentil/carrot soup that I've taken for lunch. Sadly it looks a similar colour to the 'summer' sky I can see out my window.

Sticking to challenge

Managed to stick to fresh food for the last few days. Been experimenting with the Tefal express with mixed results. Picking the right attachment isn't always obvious and while it works well with anything fresh and firm eg carrots other things can be a mess and jam up the mechanism eg onions/shallots. The coleslaw I made could be described as a little damp...

Tefal

Kevin, which model do you have? I think there are three in the range with various powers.

Fresh Express

Hi Tom. I have the Tefal Fresh Express, the least powerful in the range. I think I overestimated what it could do the first time I used it and it kept jamming up with bits of onion and the like. I've since used it more successfully but I think there will always be things it's less hassle just to chop/grate by hand.
