Kai lan anyone?

I read an article in last Saturday's Telegraph about kai lan which is a Chinese brocolli/kale type vegetable and tastes, according to the author, like a cross between brocolli and asparagus. Has anyone here grown it or tasted it?

kai lan

we tried this last year but it didn't crop very well in our garden but what little we got was fine and we enjoyed it. Not bothering this year though going to give more space to flower sprouts which crop really well and we love the taste. It has stood up right through this long cold winter the last pickings this weekend with a roast duck. foxy x
