Garden Secrets

Did any of you watch Alan Titchmarsh's Garden Secrets last night, and what did you think of it? I watched the recording of it this afternoon and thought it was excellent. It was so much better than the new look Gardeners World. I like Alan, and it's good to see him doing what I think he does best and that's presenting gardening programmes. It's a 4 part series so if you missed it this week remember to watch next tuesday at 8 on BBC2. I shall keep all the recordings so that I can rewatch them on a cold miserable winters day.

Alan Titchmarsh

Thanks for the reminder of that Violet - shall catch up on iplayer and then record for next ones. I'm rather partial to Alan Titchmarsh, he's got what I consider to be "an old-fashioned charm".

Alan Titchmarsh books

I've never read his novels but will look out for them when next in a bookshop. As long as they aren't romantic I might try one.

Violet...

Caught the first Secret Gardens on iPlayer. I really enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to watching the rest of the series.

Ermm, I'm not sure what you'll think of Alan's novels; I think he's written them tongue in cheek and whilst I wouldn't call them "romantic" they're maybe a male Jilly Cooper type of novel?

thanks for warning me, maybe I'll pick one up in a charity shop then if it's not my sort of book I can give it back.
Glad you enjoyed the programme.

Alan Titchmarsh

Hi I'm new to this forum and I joined because of the nice comments about Alan!

I love Mr T, he's a really nice guy and I love his programmes! I thought 'Alan's Secret Gardens' was brilliant and I can't wait for the next one tomorrow!

Hi Sue,
yes, Alan always comes over as a nice bloke,I wouldn't mind living next door to him. Think of all those gardening tips he could pass on to me.I could make him one of Delia's cakes to show my thanks. I think Alan and Geoff Hamilton were the best presenters on Gardeners World, it's not the same without them. I could watch their old programmes all day long and never get bored.
