Was everywhere when young now seems out of fashion.
Why ?
Superb scent, insects love it, takes no effort.
Following on from earlier thread re 5 plants suddenly had to go and buy one.

Yes Sandra I agree, loads here in France, I have the paler shade but there are some gorgeous deep deep purples, not keen on the white though as they are prone to going brown if the flowers get damp, don't like the white Camelias for the same reason.

seems to thrive here too - we have one in the garden and i've seen some real whoppers in older yards - our area is v new
