Grass

Is it to late to give the grass a last cut. Been away for six weeks was a horid shade of brown when we left due to the lack of rain, now all grean and about half way up your leg.

Been out pruning the bushes today but my french neighbour who 'knows everything' said it was to late to cut the grass. Not being a gardener myself should i cut or just leave it.??

cutting grass

I have cut mine this week and if it carrys on growing it will need another cut before long. I think the rule is not to cut if it is fosty.I have a flymo type mower so this makes it easy to cut. I like cutting the grass.

grass

Thank you both for the advice.
Seems we had a lot of rain while away, this week has been quite dry, so might give it a cut saturday afternoon. I will move the wheels so it doesn't cut to short.

grass cutting

how weird....

i cut my back garden yesterday, was soaking wet as we have had really heavy sea mist and hill fog lately - couldn;t see accross the road for 2 days. the mower is a petrol one though, so i wouldn;t recommend cutting grass that wet with an electric one.

Cutting Grass

I've cut mine recently too. I don't mind cutting it when it's a bit wet and the only time I don't is when the ground is too soft and the mower would be caked in mud. It looked a lot tidier out there because the hover mower sucks up all the leaves too. Only problem is this morning the back garden looked like a battle ground - I think a cat or fox must have killed a bird because there are feathers everywhere.

grass....

Hope OH gives ours another cut as it will collect the leaves at the same time...ride on with petrol, so easy enough if he can be bothered...

Grass

My OH recently bought a ride-on mower and now doesn't find it a chore to mow the grass. As mentioned above, the only reason it doesn't get mowed is if it is very wet or frosty. A Golfer told us once that a Course is mowed throughout the year unless you have the above conditions!
