Have I planted out too soon?

I recently received 3 plants that I'd ordered - Foxglove "Illumination". Because we had a couple of lovely sunny days I decided to plant them out. Since then we've had a few days of rain and now the forecast says it is going to get very cold next week. Should I dig them up and put them in pots in the greenhouse or just cover them with fleece?

Too soon?

If it were me, I'd cover them with fleece. I read something recently about plants limiting their growth as soon as they sense they're in a pot, as opposed to having room for their roots to spread, so leave them where they are if you want them to grow big and healthy!

I should be planting seeds today, but am holding off because of the forecast frost in the next week. The sudden growth spurt that seems to happen in early May will make up for any late plantings, I think (hope!).

In other news, my daffodils are looking lovely!

Darkginger, many thanks for your comments - I will cover them with some fleece and keep my fingers crossed. Yes, the Daffs are looking lovely. I remember years ago we had to hunt high and low to get an open Daffodil to take to school for St. David's Day but not these days.
