smoked Garlic

I have just been given a large bulb of smoked garlic. Any ideas of how I use it?

Hello sea cook,

I guess wherever you use garlic you could use smoked garlic if you want some added smoky flavour.

I have just been given a sample of smoked garlic powder but I haven’t used it as yet but I thought perhaps in a salad dressing, rub or marinade for chicken or lamb.

Perhaps you could post your question on the ‘can anyone help’ forum to see if any of the Delia Online community has any suggestions.

I love using to make a proper mayo - it gives it a lovely smokey taste, perfect with a cold platter of smoked fish and prawns. (our local smoker also does smoked prawns) Or you could use the mayo to liven up some warm salmon - it needs to be something quite strong otherwise all you taste, is the smokey mayo. Any left ovr mayo never seems to stay for long.

That sounds really good, many thanks. I will certainly try it. I have now used it with chicken - see my recipes. I am a bit new to this website so don't know if you can see my recipes!!
