Baking beans

I have watched the video on how to make pastry and see that the way is now to use foil. I have used baking beans in the past, is there any particular advantage to using foil, or can I continue to use my baking beans? Many thanks

Hello mellymulvey,

We use the foil because we like the way the pastry cooks and the sides stay in place but if you are happy with your own method you should continue to follow it.
