Damson Chutney

I am wanting to make the Damson Chutney. Can cinnamon sticks and allspice berries be replaced with the ground version that we can get in our local supermarket? If so, what quantities would I use? We have just managed to identify the sour plums we grow as Damsons, and as I am new to making chutneys, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks you.

Hello Jayefaye,

If you can’t get the whole spices for this recipe I would use half a teaspoon of ground cinnamon and 1 teaspoon of ground allspice.
