Cake

Hello. I would like to know why does my cake has huge air bubbles? Should I trap the cake tin before baking? If yes, how many times? Also, whenever the recipe calls for 'grease and line the cake tin', what is the best way to do so? I've always spray and line with baking paper at the bottom of the cake tin and it turns out fine. But yesterday, I've tried using butter to grease it and when it's done, the sides of the cake is kinda over cooked and slightly crusty? Is it because I butter it too much?

For Lysha

Hello Lysha,

I would say a couple of gentle taps on a flat surface would help disperse any large air bubbles.

Yes an over greased cake tin can make the edge over crisp.

Best wishes

Lindsey
